Sunkyung Noh is a South Korean organist who began playing at the age of 16. She studied with Prof. Dong-ill Shin at Yonsei University and later earned two master's degrees in Organ and Claviorganum under Prof. Wolfgang Zerer at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg, where she also studied harpsichord with Prof. Menno van Delft. From 2022 to 2024, she pursued advanced studies in the Meisterklasse at the Hochschule in Leipzig with Prof. Martin Schmeding. She has received numerous awards, including First Prize and Gold Medal in Interpretation at the 2023 St Albans International Organ Competition, becoming the first Korean to do so. She also won First Prize at the Buxtehude Organ Competition in Lübeck, and was the first Asian to win the International Mendelssohn Competition, where she received both the First Prize and the Contemporary Work Interpretation Award. Earlier accolades include prizes from the Korea Organist Association and the Asia Organ Competition. She has performed widely across Europe and the USA, including appearances at Leipzig’s Thomaskirche, Freiberg’s Münster, and Haarlem’s St Bavokerk. She has played with orchestras at the Gewandhaus Leipzig and the Essen Philharmonic. In 2025, she will release her debut solo album and tour internationally, including a recital at King’s College, Oxford.
