Chamber Philharmonia Cologne was founded in 2003 in the city whose name it bears, a city famous for its musical teaching. The orchestra draws continuously on the talent emerging from the masterclasses of the most highly-respected instrumental teachers; to date over 100 musicians have performed in this constantly-changing ensemble. The orchestra performs a demanding concert season around the world; the 2010-11 season includes 150 concerts in Germany and a further 200 elsewhere. Since November 2009 the Mercedez-Benz company has been a supporter of Chamber Philharmonia Cologne, providing it with a state-of-the-art bus and hosting concerts featuring the ensemble in the Mercedez-Benz Centre in Cologne.
